Healthy Neurodivergent Parenting Group (ages 0-12)

“Neurotypical” standards and expectations are pervasive in our schools, workplaces, and societies at large. “Expert” advice and pressure from other parents tends to lean in this same direction. The intention of this group is to provide a safe-enough space for unlearning some of this conditioning and to form neurodivergent community. Though a collaborative group process, participants will explore their values and develop responsive, informed, and compassionate parenting “norms” of their own. Dr. Emily Haygeman will serve as group facilitator, supporting group discussions informed by up-to-date information and research from neurodivergent authors and mental health professionals. Additionally, they will guide therapeutic explorations utilizing sand tray, collage, and other optional activities throughout this in-person group offering.
